Employee Spotlight: Will👮‍♂️ Will has been with the City of Lennox since 2012. He started his career in Minnesota in 2006, then moved back to this area to be closer to family. After a short time working in Centerville, he joined the Lennox team—and says he wasn’t looking for just a job, he was looking for a home. He found that here in Lennox. Will has been married to his wife for 25 years. They have three children and five grandchildren who bring them lots of joy. One piece of advice that stuck with Will came from his grandfather: “If you find a job you love, you’ll never work a day in your life.” That mindset has guided him throughout his career. Will says he’s thankful for the many wonderful people he’s met in Lennox and is proud to call this community home. Thank you, Will, for your years of service and dedication!

The Rubble Site has reopened. Please do NOT dump trees and branches at the old football field. This area is only being used by the city to avoid delays in dumping and to expedite up the cleanup. Traffic barricades are being placed to prevent unauthorized use.

Lennox - we are continuing making our way through town collecting debris piles from the curb / boulevards. Please be mindful to keep the street and storm drains as clear as possible as we are expected to receive more rain this evening.

Tree Debris
Lennox residents - please review the information below for information on storm cleanup. The Lennox Rubble Site is closed as of tonight due to muddy conditions. It will remain closed until at least tomorrow afternoon when we reassess. City crews will be picking up trees and branches that are placed in the boulevard to limit use of the rubble site and assist in the cleanup. We ask that you have trees to the boulevard in front of your home by 7:00 PM Wednesday if at all possible. Elm Street is closed due to a downed power line between 5th Avenue and Park Drive. Multiple other streets are at least partially blocked. City crews will begin clearing streets tomorrow morning, starting with emergency routes and the school. From there, crews will start in the northeast part of town and move clockwise. As City and Xcel Energy crews work, there will be periodic unannounced street closures. Please give these crews the space they need to do their work safely. Power is still out at City Hall. Emergency needs may be routed to the on-call emergency number at 605.366.4705, or nvp@cityoflennoxsd.com

Lennox residents - please refrain from driving through town overnight unless necessary. First responders and other crews are surveying damage and need as little interference as possible to do so safely and thoroughly.
